A long-term VRC Member, Dean is still dining out on his First 4 coup from Aust Cup Day 2021. A tidy return, a tale well told—now he’s eyeing another payday this weekend. Let's hope he can.

SHAIYHAR (8) looks a solid chance here, back to his pet track and distance. He ran a solid race in a bunched finish at Caulfield last time, outclassed in the G1 Australian Cup prior. That was his only fail at the Flemington 2000m where he's won 3/5. Maps beautifully and looks value in early betting. LIBERAMI (13) is the one on the up who will be very hard to hold out. He showed a rapid turn of foot on wet ground to win here over 1800m last time out and it's hard to say he won't relish 2000m off that. Stays down in the weights given the further rise in grade but looks up to it. NONCONFORMIST (1) did enough fresh in Adelaide at G3 level, suited up to 2000m now. Has a big weight but he's classy on his day. ARDAKAN (3) was okay at his Australian debut and can be a sharp improver while TOWNSEND (9) should be at peak fitness now and can give a sight.
