Race 8 Overview

Key focus is on the New Zealand mare LA CRIQUE (14) who put up some big ratings last season but looked better than ever winning the Horlicks Plate last time. Melody Belle used that as a platform to win here and La Crique rated almost just as well. NIMALEE (2) ran a stormer in this race last year and has since won the Sydney equivilent. She should be much closer in the run this year from a low draw and links back up with Ollie who rode her to win the Queen Of The Turf from the same stall. Not a lot between her and ICEBATH (1) who can be in striking distance from a good alley. SHE'S LICKETYSPLIT (16) faces a tougher test now but fillies have won this in recent times and she will get a perfect run on speed. KIKU (4) and CHAILLOT (8) look wider knockout hopes.
