Alongside him is ELKINGTON ROAD (6) who ran a similar race at Caulfield and had similarly impressed at a lower level the start prior. Both should run well. The Gothic has thrown up five winners of the Carbine Club this century and SANDPAPER (2) toughed it out well enough there to consider him a chance of adding to that record. Speaking of good records, Chris Walelr has won this three times, including last year, and with J-Mac up PUNGO (12) looks the top seed of his three this time. Must consider.
