Very open race. LETHAL THOUGHTS (10) looks a nice each way bet. His return in a bunched finish at Geelong was good off a slow tempo, settling last but finding the line quite well for fifth, beaten two lengths. Second up last time in he was only edged out by Marble Arch which is solid form for this. Fitter now and drawn better, he can land in a decent spot and run well. LE FERRARI (2) was only run down late in the Geelong race, beaten a neck by Mollynickers. This is his level and he rarely runs poorly. VERDAD (6) resumes. He had an incredibly frustrating campaign, finishing second in all five starts. He's clearly got the ability and maps well but fancy he may have burnt a few one too many times. BRAZEN LADY (7) is racing in good form, beaten under a length in the Black Pearl at Geelong last time. The last bit of 1400m is a minor niggle. PIONEER RIVER (12) tried hard behind a red-hot Disneck in Sydney last time and that form should hold up well.
