Race Overview

SMILE AND WAVE (11) demolished her rivals first up when a slick 5.5 len win over 1000m at Mornington on January 1. From astute stable and gets every chance to continue on her winning ways. Newitt on again and even fitter now. INDEPENDENT (1) resumes today and brings strong form after placing twice at Sandown last time in. Stronger now and looks set for this with two good trials under his belt. Will get every chance with Oliver aboard. ALTROVE (12) is back from a spell of ten weeks after racing well on the country circuit. Drifted back from a wide gate and made-up good ground late when third over 1180m at Gundagai on November 12. Looked forward in a recent trial and drawn to stalk the speed. BAZINGA BAZINGA (2) has returned in good order with a win and minor placing in three starts back. Sat on a hot speed at Moonee Valley second up when a tiring fourth two back. Shinn on today and set to take a hand in the finish.
