AUSTRALIAN GUINEAS
Top pick must be JACQUINOT (1), the Golden Rose winner looking to complete the double that proved beyond both Denman and Ole Kirk. Set himself up to win this by knocking off the older horses in the Orr and showed himself every bit as good now as he was in the spring. Biggest danger might just be his stablemate AMENABLE (8) who showed talent in the spring and then zipped home off a crawling pace first up. Stronger gallop and a mile look big positives for him now and he has a winning chance. Plenty of interest in LEGARTO (15) coming across from NZ. Risque was third here as a NZ 1000 Guineas winner and Legarto brings across a better peak rating than that one. ELLIPTICAL (2) won the lead up and is better suited here as can be ATTRITION (14) who closed strongly behind him without luck.
