Ben has been lucky to experience that winning feeling on Cup Day at Flemington as on owner - Bartholomew Diaz @$31. Partnering with his Dad "Whisky", they have a 1st runner next week, trained by Gai Waterhouse.

Race Preview

LIONEL (8) is an interesting one. He ran well at his Australian debut at Mornington over 2000m, which saw him start $6 in the Listed Andrew Ramsden Stakes. He was too bad to be true there, finishing a long last, but could be worth another chance here in a much easier race. MIRZANN (11) hasn't quite delivered in three Australian runs to date but should eat up the extra ground here and can repay the faith. FERAGO (6) was good in the Sandown Cup behind Amade last start which reads well. Can figure. ABERFELDIE BOY (4) was fresh at 2000m here last start and ran well. Much fitter for that this trip suits. MOUNT POPA (2) brings sound form from Sydney and could get into the finish.
