HKJC WORLD POOL SPRINT CLASSIC
Keen to see ALABAMA LASS (6) in Australia. She's a top line New Zealand filly who was very good first up in the G1 Sistema Railway behind Crocetti before exploding second up to win the G3 Kings Plate by 5.5 lengths. Suited by the set weights here, if she turns up at her best they'll struggle to beat her. DAGGERS (7) ran a very nice race first up in the Inglis Sprint here, beaten under a length. Back to 1100m is perhaps not ideal but he's firmly in the mix. AMELITA (13) was much better in a more suitable race last week at Moonee Valley, closing well against the pattern. If she's come through that run okay she's a genuine hope. FIRST SETTLER (1) resumes. Not sure where he fits in with the three-year-old crop but he's a G2 winner here and has to be respected. RICH DOTTIE (16) and VESTAS (15) are in the mix.
