VIRTUOUS CIRCLE (3) has taken a while to find form but really put the writing on the wall here last time out, settling a long way back and charging home into a narrow fourth after drawing wide. Could settle closer here from the soft gate and looks ready to fire. BOLD SOUL (4) won a key lead up over this route last start, sprinting best off a slow speed to score well. Should be afforded a similar run here and can make it back to back wins. GOLDENSTATEWARRIOR (8) was third to Bold Soul here last time out in another solid performance. Can roll forward again and should take some getting past again. DIWALI (5) struggled last time but did win the Sandown Cup at 3200m prior and a faster tempo here would suit. Not sure what to do with CAPTAIN ELECTRIC (10) who was poor last week at Caulfield as favourite. He may need it genuinely heavy.
