LEXUS ANDREW RAMSDEN
A ticket to the Melbourne Cup is on the line and it would be some compensation for HEZASHOCKA (3) who missed a ticket to the Caulfield Cup last time by the barest of margins. Big run all the same, edged out by a horse in terrific form, and he gives the impression that he will stay the extra journey this time. He has the rating if he does. WHITE MARLIN (10) certainly stays this far as he showed when winning at the C&D on Cup Day last year in some style. Beaten last time but that was just a stepping to stone for this and he showed in the Easter Cup that he is going as well as ever. LUNAR FLARE (17) was strong closing behind him in the Easter Cup and wants this longer trip now. She's a top mare over these trips. VOW AND DECLARE (1) is a former Cup winner having a great season and his stablemate EL PATRONESS (18), an Oaks winner, showed that she has more to offer when winning nicely last time.
