Ryan remembers attending country track meetings with his dad as a kid. Since then, has always had a passion for the sport. A share in ownership of 2 foals, he is hopeful one day, they'll race at Flemington.

LAYERUPONLAYER (9) resumes. He came back from Hong Kong last campaign and won dominantly first up at Ballarat, taking his maiden by 7 lengths, backing it up with a soft BM64 win next time out. His form tapered off a touch after that but he's won a trial leading in and should be quick enough to cope with the pressure of 1000m. GRAND LARCENY (7) has won his past two over the short trips, given a good ride to run down Boston Rocks in. BM74 at Caulfield Heath last time out. Drawn out wide should suit and he'll be very hard to hold out. BIG ME (4) won easily as a short priced favourite on wet ground two back, close up in a 955m at Moonee Valley last time. He's still lightly raced and gets Shinn back aboard here. BOONIE (2) won well on wet ground at Warrnambool last time and could measure up while CHINQUI (10) is a lightly raced type who has a nice profile on resumption.
