Danny, a racing enthusiast, joined VRC 11 years ago after moving to Melbourne. He’s yet to own a racehorse but believes this is his year. Confident in his selections, he’s expecting some strong winners.

Keen to see CLEAN ENERGY (2) return. She's a very well bred filly (sister to Sunlight) who won both starts in her maiden campaign, both on rain affected going. She started $2.10 favourite and beat subsequent Group 1 winner Lady Shenandoah at Listed level before a spell, with a big gap to third. Off a long spell but she's had three trials, draws the right part of the track and gets Shinn aboard. SCILLATO (7) has looked good winning both starts to date, recording some slick late splits to score at Bendigo over this trip last time out. Tipping she measures up well. ESCARPA (10) found the line nicely fresh over 1000m at Caulfield Heath and will be fitter for that. Gets D Lane on to navigate the inside draw. MATISSE (1) resumes. She'll likely be better over further but has the class to be charging late. MADRINA (6) wasn't bad fresh behind Arabian Summer and that form should hold up.
