The Group 1 Australian Cup where PRIDE OF JENNI (6) is aiming to go one better than last year. A brief retirement and being first-up at 1800m didn't matter as she adopted her usual tearaway tactics to walk in with the G2 Peter Young Stakes at Caulfield. Can only improve off that, if Newitt nails the sectionals again, they'll struggle to catch her. ZARDOZI (8) gave Jenni too big a start at Caulfield but closed off well late. 2000m at Flemington should suit her better but she needs to sit closer to the pace. ATISHU (7) loves Flemington. She was just fair in the All-Star Mile here last time and is now through two slowly run races. Not sure that's the set up you want coming into this furnace but she's a top mare. DENY KNOWLEDGE (9) was fantastic with a big weight fresh. Harder here but she can probably sit second in run and be right there. MIDDLE EARTH (4) is a classy import who overcame a slow tempo to win fresh. Suspect he can elevate sharply in this.
