It's been a long journey from Wolverhampton and Yarmouth to the Lexus Melbourne Cup for this import, winner of the Geelong Cup two weeks ago. That followed a Heatherlie Handicap win earlier this spring. Never looked entirely comfortable at 2400m, especially on wet ground, so the prospect of a wet Lexus Melbourne Cup has to be a concern at 3200m. Trainer Mike Moroney won the Cup in 2000 with Brew, while he combines again with Patrick Moloney - the pair won the sprinting equivalent of the Cup, the Yulong Stud Newmarket Handicap, with 100-1 shot Roch 'n' Horse in March.
