Another fantastic day of racing at Flemington, with perfect conditions setting the stage for top-class action on the track!

This week’s Punters Club saw a thrilling showdown between team captains, with the wins coming in fast. Marc got off to a flying start, landing a winner with his first bet and securing a handy return. Grace wasn’t far behind, notching up a win before continuing her success at both Flemington and Wangaratta.

A huge THANK YOU to our team captains, Grace Ramage and Marc Ohlmus, for their efforts in selecting the day’s tips and for their time. Congratulations to Grace and her team, Light Fingers, who delivered a return for their members. Marc’s team finished the day even, but it was a great experience all around for everyone in the Members and Saintly Place. Don’t forget to book your spot for next week!

Marc is the only team captain with bets in the next at Flemington. Has hedged his bets with Reserve Bank his favourite, but thinks this can be challenged.  

Grace feels that this race is hard to isolate a winner. Too many can be in the mix at the finish line. Hoping for Marc's sake, that one of his tips can get across the line!

#3 FEROCE wins this year's Howden Australian Guineas with an exceptional ride home to take the crown!! 

Unfortunately, that means that it knocks out Team Light Fingers from the Quaddie! Was hoping we'd have at least one Quaddie going the distance!

All is not lost, both teams have bets to come with more racing at Flemington, and have money in the kitty for additional bets!  Both teams are looking for a payout at this stage, how much depends on the last 2 races!

Unfortunately, Marc and team Archer our out of the Quaddie with his omission of R7 winner Marble Arch. 

Grace continues to the next leg with Marble Arch part of her three selections in R7. With only 3 horses in the next leg, let's keep the Quaddie running.

ANOTHER WIN!

WHAT A RIDE by Michael Dee on board #11 MARBLE ARCH to win Race 7 TAB Blamey Stakes!

Also secures team Light Fingers another win with Grace's selection of Marble Arch for $300 to win! 

The two captains are duelling it out today, with alternate wins!! Will they see eye to eye and back the same horse next.

Off the back of that great win, Marc couldn't wait for someone to update the board with his win!!  Sometimes you have to do it yourself..

That's another HUGE win for Team Archer, with the captain Marc having a crack with a $500 bet on Race 1 at ASCOT on $5 KAY TEE WHY at $5.50 return.

Last minute update from Team Archer with Marc jumping on at Wangaratta in Race 6 # 9 NODACHI - $250 win.

How to get involved: 

Note: Participants MUST be on course to be eligible to join the Punters Club.

Howden Australian Guineas Day - Saturday 1 March 2025. 

• The Peak (Members) - Book Now
• TAB Saintly Place (General Public)

Registrations

• Register for only $10 cash prior to the jump of Race 4.
• Each entrant will receive an entry card that will need to be held onto to collect any winnings later in the day.

How it works

• Head to one of the Punters Club sign-up tables on course, pay your $10 entry fee, before the starting race 4 and you're in! 
• You will receive an entry card, which you will need to show at the end of the day to collect any winnings.
• The starting kitty will be $500 courtesy of the VRC plus the $10 from each entrant is used by our expert tipsters to place bets
• Bets are placed from the starting race (race 3 or 4) and the last race at Flemington as well as bets at any racetrack across the country.
• Any winnings from bets can be used to place future bets on the day.
• Follow live updates from our blog, listen to our tipsters in person in the nominated spots, or check out the chalkboards located on course throughout the day.
• Once all races are completed, head back to the sign-up table and collect your winnings!

Collection

• Any winnings can be collected from the registration desks in The Peak or TAB Saintly Place following correct weight of the last race at Flemington. Entrants must present their entry card and sign it to collect any winnings.
• Any unclaimed winnings by a VRC Member will be automatically placed on their cash-on-card balance after the race day.
• Public patrons must be present to collect their winnings. Any unclaimed winnings will be donated to a VRC charity partner.
